PRINCIPALS

CARYL SERBIN, RN, BSN, LHRM - PRESIDENT
Caryl Serbin, President of Surgery Consultants of America, has more than twenty years of experience in the healthcare industry, with the last fifteen years spent in ambulatory surgery administration and consulting. She is the past developer and administrator of multiple out-patient surgery centers in south Florida and has served as the Licensed Healthcare Risk Manager for several facilities. Ms. Serbin has provided consulting services for a variety of ambulatory surgery centers, including orthopedic, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, pain management, urology, and multi-specialty. She has developed, managed, and obtained JCAHO accreditation with commendation for both freestanding and hospital-based ambulatory surgery centers. Previously, Ms. Serbin served as the administrator for Physicians Surgery Center, a Health South surgery center (formerly Surgical Care Affiliates, the largest surgery center company in the United States). She is an active member of the Florida Society of Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Federated Ambulatory Surgery Association, and the American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Ms. Serbin maintains membership with the Association of Operating Room Nurses, the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, and the American Society of Perianesthesia Nurses.

TODD A. CARUSO, CPA - VICE-PRESIDENT FINANCE
Todd Caruso is a Certified Public Accountant and the Vice-President of Finance for Surgery Consultants of America. He has been involved in the healthcare industry for many years as a managing partner of the Certified Public Accounting firm of McHale, Caruso, Scullion and Co. in Fort Myers, Florida. Mr. Caruso has experience in healthcare areas such as surgery centers, imaging centers, laboratories, physical therapy centers, practice management companies, and individual physician practices. He performs analysis and design of ongoing management reporting, financial statement presentation, comparison reporting based on benchmarking from sources such as the Medical Group Management Association and financial reporting requirements to various state and federal health agencies. Mr. Caruso is experienced in forming new group physician practices, including ancillaries, as well as in the areas of mergers, acquisitions, and buyouts. He is knowledgeable regarding tax and financial implications of formation and disposition of healthcare entities. Mr. Caruso has served as a featured speaker for the Florida Society of Ambulatory Surgery Centers on ambulatory surgery center benchmarking.

JUDITH L. ENGLISH - VICE-PRESIDENT BUSINESS OPERATIONS
Judith English is Vice-President of Business Operations for Surgery Consultants of America. She is the past general manager of the Clinicon Corporation, a firm specializing in ophthalmology products. In that position, Ms. English coordinated a national sales team and was actively involved in marketing through trade shows, educational seminars, with develop-ment and design of trade show displays, informational booklets, and product brochures. She has many years of experience in ambulatory surgery center and medical practice coding, compliance, and credentialing and is the collaborative author of ambulatory surgery center policy and procedure manuals. Ms. English has more than thirty-five years experience in the healthcare industry and has been the business operations manager for an orthopedic ambulatory surgery center and business office manager for ophthalmology and family physician practices.
